Who is Erik Purcell?

Erik Purcell is an American mixed martial artist and former professional fighter who competed most actively from 2010 to 2012. He is also the owner and operator of MPR Endurance MMA in Langhorne, PA. His gym is successful, and has created an amazing community devoted to combat sports.

Purcell has been a part of the martial arts world for most of his life; he started his journey as a wrestler for Neshaminy High School, and followed his love of grappling into Russian Sambo, Judo, Jiu Jitsu and MMA. In each discipline, Erik learned to take lessons and apply them to a broader understanding of the applications of grappling specifically for MMA.

Over the last decade, he has trained with some of the best Jiu Jitsu grapplers and professional fighters in the world in order to improve his craft on the mat. Erik received his Jiu Jitsu black belt from Pat Stano under the legendary Sergio Penha, and also holds a brown belt in Judo and a black belt in Japanese Jiu Jitsu.

In addition to his belts in Judo and BJJ, Erik is also highly accomplished in the Russian art of Sambo. He has competed and coached internationally at the Sambo World Championships and World Cup in Bulgaria and Moscow.

As the owner of MPR Endurance, Erik's goal is to pass on his passion for martial arts to all of his students.
