Petchdam “The Baby Shark” Petchyindee (also known as Petchdam Gaiyanghadao) is a professional kickboxer from Thailand that competed in ONE Championships and was the 2015 Lumpinee Bantamweight Champion. Petchdam is a southpaw professional Muay Thai fighter with 128 fights in his career.

Petchdam Petchyindee is a one-time Flyweight kickboxing World Champion and five-time Muay Thai World Champion. His kickboxing and Muay Thai training started at the young age of eight years old. Petchdam started competing professionally in 2014. By 2018 he had his first chance to fight in the ONE Championship. After leaving ONE Championship, Petchdam has continued to professionally fight with Petchyindee Academy at locations such as the Rajadamnern Stadium and Rangsit Stadium in Thailand. It is said that his father, Surasee “Ceing” Wongkhan, is his biggest supporter and has pushed Petchdam to do what he loved since he was little. His father actually was his first coach and training partner ever at the age of eight. Eventually, his father would send him to Sit Ood Piboon, the only training school in their village. 

Now, Petchdam Petchyindee has decided to return the favor to his family and provide for them as they did for him. Petchdam wants to give his younger brothers, Jeenon and Rungrit, an opportunity for a bright future. Unlike Petchdam, they have decided to stay in school to study in Petchdam’s hometown, Ubon Ratchathani. Petchdam has remarked that he doesn’t want his younger brothers to have a difficult life and he wants them to have opportunities he never had at their ages. He helps pay for their education and is very invested in their day-to-day activities. Petchdam makes it a point to visit his family as much as possible.

Petchdam has also been known to compete at the esteemed Lumpinee Stadium. There he fought Morakot Petchsimien, Knunhan Sitthongsak, and Sing Parunchai once again. 

Between the years of 2018 and 2021, Petchdam Petchyindee was a contender in the ONE Championship. While there he had many great performances. Some of his fights with ONE were fought against Masahide Kudo, Elias Mahmoudi, Taiki Naito, and Rodtang Jitmuangnon. 

Petchdam Petchyindee's Best Fight of All Time

In May 2019, Petchdam Petchyindee faced Elias Mahmoudi at the ONE Championship. Their fight was set as the match to name the flyweight kickboxing world champion. It started a little rocky for Petchdam when he took an elbow to the head from Elias. The match was temporarily stopped due to a breach in the rules. Not too long after, the match restarted and Petchdam came back looking for vengeance. The first round started with Petchdam blocking and countering every strike Elias had for him. His kicks were stunning Elias every time they made contact.

The second round of Petchdam vs. Elias started with Petchdam immediately evading a head kick from his opponent. With only two minutes left in the round, Petchdam can get a hard kick to Mahmoudi’s ribs. The fatigue starts to way on Elias, with Petchdam only making any substantial strikes for the rest of the round. At one point, Petchdam is even able to make a brutal punch to Mahmoudi’s head. 

In the next three rounds, Petchdam can get a strong read on Elias Mahmoudi’s style and finds his accurate range. Their fight ends with a technical/unanimous decision. Petchdam wins the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World title. He would eventually lose the title to Ilias Ennahachi three months later.
